'Leap of Faith' — The Story Behind This Yellow and Green Abstract Painting
Share
Some paintings come from a very specific place — and 'Leap of Faith' is definitely one of those. I painted it during a season of real uncertainty in my own life, at a time when I was having to move forward without being able to see the whole path ahead of me. Learning to trust the process. Learning to let go of the need to know exactly how things would unfold. Taking, quite literally, a leap of faith.
I reached for yellow almost instinctively when I started this painting — yellow for joy, for optimism, for that stubborn brightness that refuses to be dimmed even when things feel unclear. Green came next, bringing balance, renewal and that sense of something quietly growing beneath the surface even before you can see the results. In oils on canvas the two colours move together in soft, layered transitions — fluid and flowing rather than rigid or forced. Which felt exactly right for what I was trying to express.
The result is green abstract art with real meaning behind it — the kind of painting that offers something different depending on where you are in life when you look at it. On a good day it feels joyful and energising. On a harder day it feels quietly encouraging — a reminder that growth is still happening even when you can't quite see it yet.
'Leap of Faith' is a one-of-a-kind original oil painting on canvas, 50×50cm, presented in a beautiful black wood float frame that gives it a gallery-quality contemporary finish. As yellow and green wall art it works beautifully in neutral, modern and contemporary interiors — and it makes one of the most meaningful gifts you can give to anyone stepping into something new.
