The Sea Reminded Me This Morning — Beauty Is Still Out There

This morning stopped me in my tracks. 🌊

I went down to the sea early this morning and filmed this — the sun sparkling on the water, the world quiet and still and utterly beautiful. I stood there for a long time just breathing it in.

I needed it. If I'm honest, my heart has been hurting lately. The state of the world weighs heavily on me and there are days when it all feels like too much. I imagine I'm not alone in that.

A couple of years ago I made the decision to stop watching the news. It was making me anxious and sad in a way that I couldn't shake, and I realised that consuming it every day wasn't making the world any better — it was just making me worse. So I stopped. And slowly, I started to feel like myself again.

What I try to do now is focus on what is good. What is beautiful - my Christian faith, the sun on the water, a kind word from a stranger, the way light moves through leaves. The small, ordinary moments that are so easy to miss when you're drowning in the noise.

This morning reminded me that beauty is still out there. Kindness is still out there. Love is still out there. We just have to choose to look for it.

I hope this little video brings you a moment of peace today — a reminder that even when things feel heavy, the good stuff is still there. It really is. 🤍
